Tokyo Engineering Internship: Spring 2017

This internship will be located in Lake Buena Vista, Fl. The Tokyo Engineering Internship is designed to be a unique learning opportunity through The Walt Disney World Resort. This program will allow you the chance to work closely with a leader, mentor and participate in a developmental curriculum designed for future Engineering Leaders. During the internship you will be periodically evaluated by your leadership team. Upon successful completion of our Engineering Internship, you could be considered for an opportunity to work as an Engineer for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts supporting our Tokyo site.


Your Role…

The Engineering Services team provides a wide variety of maintenance and repair services for the operating and support teams within the four theme parks and resorts areas. The area is divided into several components which range from park attractions to resort facilities with each area having different responsibilities and technical expertise.

Basic Qualifications

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Fluent in Japanese and English
  • Candidates who successfully complete this internship at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida must be open to a potential future job opportunity with the Tokyo Disneyland Resort in Tokyo, Japan
  • Authorized to work in Japan
  • Must be a team player with strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license
  • Self‐starter with demonstrated initiative ‐ able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (esp. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements

Required Education

  • Fundamental Science and Engineering, Creative Science and Engineering, Global Engineering, Engineering Science, Engineering and Applied Sciences, International Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Industrial & Management Systems Engineering, Mechanical Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management or related major
  • Junior, Senior or Graduate student status by arrival date
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4 year college or university

Additional Information

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must not have already completed one consecutive year of employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney Cast Members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (forWalt Disney World Cast Members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland Cast Members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Location of position: This position has opportunities in Lake Buena Vista, FL

Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2017 – May 2017. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Housing: A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
