Disneyland Resort Park Events & Ticket Sales Internship – Spring 2017

Department Overview:
This position is part of the Disneyland Resort Park Event Sales team focusing on ticket sales in the Off-Site Convention market and mix-in product in the local market.

Responsibilities

Make an impact by…

  • Manage ticket store sales calls to all the Anaheim Convention Center, Long Beach and Los Angeles Confidential booking calendar. Ensure each group is contacted and offered a custom ticket store during their Anaheim visit.
  • Obtain a list of current Southern California companies and provide a sales blitz or mailing to provide our current ticket product and Park offerings.
  • Provide all clients with ticket program options. Either the bulk ticket product or the custom URL ticket store.
  • Submit corporate credit approval prior to turning over the contract to Convention Services or for large ticket orders.
  • Create accounts in Daylight and attach Sales efforts in the activity reporting.
  • Run monthly ticket store recap report.
  • Handle deposits and ensure PCI compliance and paperwork are handled accordingly to company policy.
  • Provide updated email blasts on current park offerings to all Park Event partners.
  • Develop client park party experiences to showcase the most current park offerings.
  • Create Park party proposal for client inquiries at one of our in park special event venues. Provide a suggested menu paring and beverage service opportunities.
  • Produce event contracts with CALM to the client proposal into a final event commitment.
  • Understand banquet menus, food and beverage minimums, and standard policies for events held at the Disneyland® Resort’s two theme parks.
  • Understand and utilize the Sales booking systems. Accurately utilize Daylight and CROC to request client venue space holds.
  • Job shadow Sales and Service Managers on venue site inspections, phone inquiries, proposal creations, and client lunches or dinners to get a full understanding of the Sales and Service policies, procedures and event flow for our Park Event Sales Team.
  • Complete RFP process for any park location requests
  • Follow the amenity guidelines for client gifts. Proper follow the request procedures.
  • Handle contract turn over and final billing requests.
  • Shadow Sales managers on Sales calls to local hotel partners and DMC partners.
  • In addition to the above outlined key responsibilities this individual may be assigned responsibilities and tasks as needed to support any team within Resort, Park Event, Sales and Services (RPSS)

Basic Qualifications

What you bring to the role…

  • Exposure to and ability to master PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Participation in the Disney College Program
  • Current or former Disneyland Resort Cast Member
  • Hospitality Major Preferred

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled, or graduated within 6 months of the start date of this internship, in an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Hospitality, or a similar major

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship for which you are applying for OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Participants on this internship must provide their own housing.
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are January 2017 through June 2017. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

This internship is located in Anaheim, CA. Participants on this internship must provide their own housing.
