Disney VIP Tour Services Administration Internship – Spring 2017

We Are…
The VIP Tour Services Administration Interns are responsible for providing support, both in the office and out in the field for our VIP Tour Guides, for customized VIP tours, sales initiatives and events. You’ll be a part of creating and being a “behinds the scenes” and “on-stage” expert in customized WDW private and group tours for families, company executives and celebrities. This is a fast paced internship with great attention to detail and communication. The VIP Tour service includes specialized access to the theme park attractions, VIP Viewing areas for shows and parades. VIP Guests include vacationing families, as well as executives and invited guests of the Company.

The internship will include a 2 week training and detailed overview sessions. These include but are not limited to, detailed park and resort training, as well as a Driving training class to ensure the interns are comfortable driving our Guests in luxury vehicles as well as 10, 12 and 15 passenger vans. This internship involves standing and walking as well as working nights and weekends.

The VIP Tour Services Administration Intern will assist our office Coordinators and Leadership Team in a variety of clerical, communication, phone and computer duties in our office. They will also assist our Tour Guide dispatch/help desk area, as well as assisting our Booking Coordinators on our phone system to answer and book both our external and internal Guests inquiries for Tours and/or events. This will possibly include the managing of individual and group VIP Tours, dining reservations, VIP viewing arrangements, arranging transportation and other guest experiences.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be comfortable driving various sizes of vehicles in the fleet, up to and including a 15-passenger van
  • Interns will need to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting when transporting guests
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Working understanding of the Walt Disney World property, products and services
  • Working understanding of TWDC Corporate structure and divisions.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated follow-through skills with multiple levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated strong Guest service skills
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict resolution through a delicate balance of self-driven integrity and partner resourcing

  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
  • Be able to walk long distances for multiple hours in the same day
  • Be able to stand in one place for multiple hours in the same day
  • Be willing to work with flexible meal breaks
  • Able to be in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment for all seasons
  • Minimum 6 month Walt Disney World experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Hospitality/Event Management program
  • Demonstrated multiple language ability, including American Sign Language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Experienced business and dining etiquette, knowledge of protocol, international customs, and current events..
  • Comfortable knowledge of applications such as Siebel, a la carte, Business Objects, Lilo, and ATS

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled, or graduated within 6 months of the start date of this internship, as a junior or higher, in an accredited college/university earning a degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Event Planning, Communications, Training/Education or related major

Additional Information

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship for which you are applying for OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are January 2017 through June 2017. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
