Disney Professional Internship – Disney Vacation Club – Sales Team Assistant Internship – Alumni Only – Spring 2017

Be a part of a dynamic sales team at Disney’s Saratoga Springs, DVC Preview Center by…

  • Prioritizing and taking responsibility for a variety of tasks to maintain an efficient operation of the Preview Center and to support the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Sales team
  • Delivering high quality guest service to all guests by assigning DVC Guides in an efficient, accurate and professional manner; ensuring pre-arranged DVC Guide requests are properly coordinated
  • Taking initiative to streamline process to increase efficiency in day to day operation
  • Capturing, verifying and updating guest information in the DVC database with high attention to detail
  • Anticipating and proactively solving challenges to best service our Guests’ needs and the operation through Disney Service guidelines including greeting guests, scheduling walk-in appointments, fulfilling incentive orders for DVC FastPass+ and answering inquiries about Disney Vacation Club and other on-property attractions and resorts
  • Overseeing the preparation of the Preview Center and the model vacation homes on a daily basis to ensure they are show ready at all times
  • Supporting and assisting with any DVC event initiative from an operations perspective, as needed
  • Ensuring your continued professional development through the opportunity to network with and shadow other departments within the Disney Vacation Club business (e.g. Marketing, Finance, Sales)


This opportunity is exclusively for those students who have successfully completed the Disney College Program and would like to take part in a professional role at the Walt Disney World® Resort.


Responsibilities

Be a part of a transformative team and culture by….

  • Supporting Disney Internships & Programs Instructors and administrative staff by assisting in a variety of projects; including classroom set-up.
  • Assisting with the daily operation of a Disney Learning Center, including maintaining learning resources (i.e. books, DVD’s, computer software and equipment)
  • Proctoring student exams and assisting with the Writing Lab, including resume review
  • Mentoring patrons and acting as a key advisor regarding the learning component of the program; assisting with course registration of incoming students; delivering certificates of completion

A day in the life….

  • Deliver exceptional guest service and operational administrative support – Focus on providing personalized service and taking ownership of work with limited direction and supervision
  • Contribute to the team’s overall performance – Act as a team player to drive attendance;coordinate and participate in special events and activities, complete project work as needed
  • Develop key partnerships – Work with the Disney Service Centers, Education Office and departments across property; act as the liaison to the Education Team; partner with the Housing Events and Communications team members
  • Deliver clear and concise content – Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at all levels through verbal and written communication.

Basic Qualifications

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Strong partnering, networking and relationship building skills along with oral and written communication
  • High-level Guest Service skills including proactive problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Ability to interact with Cast Members at all levels (hourly and salaried)
  • Attention to detail and high accountability for accuracy when interacting within sales environment
  • Computer proficiency including experience with spreadsheets and databases
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license and comfort in operating a 15 passenger company vehicle. Interns will need to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting when transporting guests to and from the preview center


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a sales, real estate and/or model home environment
  • Proven knowledge of Walt Disney World Resort products and services
  • Knowledge of the Disney Vacation Club product, property and/or membership

Required Education

  • Be a former or current Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship Participant
  • Currently earning a college/university degree as a junior or senior (up to 6 months after graduation) in Communication, Business, Hospitality or related majors

Additional Information

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (forWalt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2017 through June 2017. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
