Disney Professional Internship – Disney Traditions Internship – Alumni Only – Spring 2017

This opportunity is exclusively for those students who have successfully completed the Disney College Program and would like to take part in a professional role at the Walt Disney World® Resort.


Responsibilities

Be a part of a transformative team and culture…
In this role, you will proactively greet and welcome new Cast Members on their first day with the Walt Disney Company through the Disney University. You’ll model onstage behaviors, and demonstrate flexibility to respond to the needs of the team at a moment’s notice. You must be comfortable working in a dynamic, ever changing work environment, manage class enrollment and coordination of Tradition classes. You will also be responsible for stocking and cleaning materials and tools. This role requires bending, standing and walking on a regular basis both inside and outside. Be aware that this is not a facilitation role.

  • Demonstrates Professionalism and strong Guest Service skills
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) including superb telephone etiquette
  • Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with Cast Members at all levels, often in situations requiring a sense of urgency, confidentiality and quick action
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback in a positive manner
  • Demonstrates proficiencies in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software applications
  • Demonstrates strong time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and take initiative as well as working on a team
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must hold a valid U.S. driver’s. Operating a company vehicle is required for this role. Candidate must be willing and able to operate a company vehicle under inclement weather, including minimal lighting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Walt Disney World property, policies and procedures
  • Fluency with SAP and Learning Management Systems
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole
  • Previous Disney Operational Experience
  • Project Management Experience
  • Proven experience in a training environment
  • Comfortable with speaking to large groups

Required Education

  • Currently earning a college/university degree as a junior or senior (up to 6 months after graduation)in Communication, Business, Hospitality or related majors.
  • Be a former or current Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship Participant

Additional Information

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (forWalt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2017 through June 2017. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
