Overview

Business Finance Internship opportunities exist for MBA students who are within one year of graduation and are seeking a degree with a business related concentration, preferably Finance or Strategy. The ideal candidate will be pursuing an MBA in Finance or Strategy and will have a minimum of five years of prior professional work experience.

The Business Finance Internship provides MBA candidates who demonstrate outstanding leadership potential the opportunity to gain a broad set of experiences in Dow’s finance organization. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity in one of our Dow Business Portfolios (Consumer Solutions, Infrastructure Solutions, Performance Materials and Chemicals or Performance Plastics). This internship is located in Midland, Michigan.

Project assignments are challenging and will provide an introduction to Dow’s global financial systems, procedures and policies, as well as Dow’s business portfolios. The opportunity to interact with key leaders in the finance organization is also an important aspect of the internship. Assignments will vary and, to the best extent possible, will be suited to complement the student’s prior experiences and background.

At Dow, we look for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about being part of a best-in-class global finance team that enables the company to meet its business and corporate objectives. We seek to build a diverse workforce of professionals who have the ability to succeed in a global team environment made up of a cross section of disciplines, both technical and non-technical. In addition to excellent finance and business skills, Dow’s finance professionals need superior communication and interpersonal abilities necessary to prosper within a global matrix structure. Furthermore, finance leaders are expected to be able to think critically in uncertain business environments where not all the information is known.

Finance employees play a key role in the Company, be it evaluating the economics of a new chemical complex in an emerging economy, helping a business devise strategic options, or brainstorming avenues to capture increased value in sales negotiations. Finance personnel directly support all businesses, functions and geographies of Dow in addition to being responsible for various risk management activities.
