Overview

The Dow Chemical Company is offering great business career opportunities in a global and international environment. We are looking for an ambitious Student (m/f) supporting our business who is interested in Safety Integrated Level (SIL) compliance project.
The purpose of this project is to ensure that currently installed instrumented safety systems are engineered, installed, registered, operated, inspected, and documented in a manner that they have the safety level needed to effectively protect equipment and people from the scenario’s they are designed against.
Activities:
  • Gather information of installed instrumented safety functions
  • Working with LOPA (Layers Of Protected Analysis) to identify installed loops
  • Working with Dow’s proprietary MOD5 control system to identify installation specifics
  • Working with a calculation tool to identify currently achieved safety level
  • Advise on changes if required safety level is not met
  • Documentation of findings in a safety requirement sheet
  • Calculation of maintenance intervals for used equipment
  • Working on procedures how/if equipment can be maintained in set intervals.
  • Depending on productivity and time constraints you may be requested to work on other projects

You can start with this project as of February 2017 for a period of 3 months (exact timing to be discussed). You will be remunerated. In addition you can stay in a hotel room free of charge and share a living room and kitchen with max. 17 other (international) students.

Qualifications

  • You are studying for a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • You have a good working knowledge of English.
